Bio:

Dr. Gladding is the Program Director of the International Business Program and teaches courses in Business Administration, International Business, and Political Science. He has considerable international business management and marketing experience as well as academic experience teaching in several countries that he uses to benefit students in the classroom. His academic specialty is International Political Economy and his teaching and research interests include International management and marketing, the cultures of capitalism, international entrepreneurship, and International business negotiation.

In an administrative role as ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ University’s Director of International Initiatives (1999-2007), Dr Gladding developed new International Business and Contemporary Global Studies majors and new study abroad and travel study programs. Dr Gladding has also served as a referee for peer-reviewed journals and been a regular contributor to Arts and Ideas programs, faculty colloquia, and committees.

Academic accomplishments:
Dr Gladding was selected as a Fulbright Scholar to China by the US Department of State in 2002 and awarded the Br. Louis Seilor Teaching Award by ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ University colleagues in 2007.

Business and Related Experience: 
Dr Gladding’s 15 years of experience in senior international management positions includes 8 years as CEO of international marketing companies in Singapore and Hong Kong as well as experience serving as the Director of the International Marketing Bureau of the Iowa Department of Economic Development.  

Dr Gladding has more than 10 years’ experience living and working in China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and Denmark and has working knowledge of several languages including Korean and Chinese.

Academic experience prior to joining ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ: 
Dr Gladding held full time teaching and research positions at the Asia Research Center, Copenhagen Business School (Denmark), the Asian Institute, University of Copenhagen (Denmark), the College of Business, Sun Yat Sen University (China), and the International Politics and Economics Program of the East-West Center (Hawaii).
