ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ Professors Present on International Lasallian Studies

Join Dr. Dominic Colonna, professor of , and Dr. Dennis H. Cremin, professor of , for their presentation “Reflections on Lasallian Studies (SIEL) 2015” at 2 p.m. Feb. 3 in AS 158A.

This free program is part of the Arts & Ideas program and is open to the public.

The program will focus on international efforts to connect Lasallians and provide insight into their own Lasallian research. In October 2015, the two ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ University professors were part of an International Session of Lasallian Studies (SIEL) in Rome, Italy. They teamed up with 33 professors, Christian Brothers, administrators, and educators from around the world who gathered to learn more about St. Jean Baptist De la Salle and the Christian Brothers.

“This unique global collaboration was an experience that will foster great progress advancing Lasallian education with the 73,000 lay colleagues teaching almost a million students in more than 80 countries,” Cremin said.

This experience inspired the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ University professors to transform the annual they have been leading for more than a decade. In the fall, they are planning a program that would include study in Rome and Assisi from December 26, 2016 - January 6, 2017.

“Reflections on Lasallian Studies (SIEL) 2015” is being presented as a part of ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ University’s Arts & Ideas Program, providing cultural and educational programming for students and the community. A portion of the Arts & Ideas events is sponsored by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
