Cremin Shares Local History in Schaumburg, Romeoville

Dr. Dennis Cremin, professor of history and director of the 蜜桃传媒最新版下载 University History Center, is taking his history lessons on the road the week of January 16.
From 7-8:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Schaumburg Township District Library, Cremin will discuss Chicago's Grant Park. From Daniel Burnham抯 plan to Lollapalooza to the championship celebrations of the Bulls and Blackhawks, Grant Park has given Chicago a great place to play. Cremin will share the details of the park抯 place in Chicago抯 history as he speaks about his book, Grant Park: The Evolution of Chicago抯 Front Yard.
From 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Isle a la Cache Museum in Romeoville, Cremin will present "A Canal to Build On." The Illinois & Michigan Canal was here before the Cubs, here before Portillo抯, and many of Will County抯 towns owe their beginnings to the little waterway that could. Join Cremin for an engaging illustrated talk as he shares the daily grind and political maneuvers that went into the I&M Canal project. He also will reveal the canal抯 second life through the Civilian Conservation Corps and the National Heritage Corridor.
