Alonzo Cardenas, Joliet, IL, was selected as the 11th Lockport Woman抯 Club/Pat Darin intern. A history and secondary education double major.
The internship is a continuation of history preservation Cardenas has been engaged in, including assisting the 蜜桃传媒最新版下载 University History Center. Cardenas worked in the Howard and Lois Adelmann Regional Collection digitizing and reviewing oral histories related to Lockport抯 Fairmont neighborhood. With the COVID 19 pandemic, Cardenas爐urned his attention to applying for the Illinois State Historical Records Advisory Board Grant for the digitization of the Lockport Woman抯 Club archives. He also reviewed the History Department website and digital collections.
Cardenas said, 揑 am beyond grateful to the Lockport Woman抯 Club for this opportunity. This internship has provided me valuable experience and is my first step in working in the field of history. Additionally, the paid internship makes a world of difference by helping me pay for college.�
