International play has wrapped up for the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ Women’s Softball team in Italy. They played against Bollate near Milan, Legnano in Lombardy, and the Panthers outside Lucca before arriving in Rome on June 10.
“This has been an amazing trip. We have visited so many wonderful cities including Venice and Florence” Head Coach Becky Pearl said. Our student-athletes could not believe all the boats cruising along the Venice canals.”
Their studies in Rome included taking a walking tour of historic sites like the Piazza Navona. They also enjoyed some local traditions, such as tossing coins into the Trevi Fountain.
“We discussed the Lasallian global network, which ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ is an active participant in, as we traveled to the De La Salle Christian Brothers Generalate.” Dr. Dennis H. Cremin, history professor commented.
The director of the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ University History Center is teaching the students enrolled in the Global History and Culture II course. Cremin added, “Being in the actual place where the history occurred makes the lessons so much more engaging and memorable.”
