ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ faculty, staff and students discuss Israel and Palestine Pilgrimage Program in April

ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ University and St. Mary’s University of Minnesota
students, faculty and staff participate on a January
Holy Land pilgrimage.

Learn more about the Holy Land, Social Justice and Bethlehem University in an April Arts & Ideas series. Faculty, staff and students, who were in partnership program with Saint Mary’s University, will present three times as a part of a series. They’ll be discussing the January pilgrimage trip to Israel and the Palestine.

“The pilgrimage allowed students to walk in the footsteps of past generations as they visited sites that are holy to the three major Abrahamic religions,” said Mike McKeon, university minister for social justice education. “Through their travels, the students built relationships with the people of the Holy Land as they learned from each other. Perhaps most importantly, the students from the United States spent time with 9 students from Bethlehem University, who shared their stories of hardship and hope.”

McKeon and Dr. Dennis Cremin, professor of , will introduce the topics, and ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ University students will share their perspectives based on their time in the Holy Land. Each of the programs will take place in the Big Red Room in the ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½×îаæÏÂÔØ University Student Union.

• 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 - focuses on pilgrimage in history


• 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16 - discusses social justice issues encountered by the pilgrims


• 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 - highlights the lasting impressions in the context of Christian faith
